Ive been waiting for this ever since the free trial on steam
I love this game and think it is so well made. I know this is the first version for iOS but it seems like there are no notifications for when it has become your turn. I am aware of email but I feel like I should be notified through the app. Maybe something to add in on the next patch. Great game guys.
First review I have ever given for the App Store but couldnt help myself with this one. Tough learning curve but the game is super rewarding once you learn the fundamentals. Its definitely worth the asking price. I have the game on PC, iPad and vita but this is now my preferred way of playing FS. Amazing game...thanks guys..
This game is boring, and the help button does nothing. The videos are broken and the game is unpolished.
Heard so many great things about the pc version I thought for sure this was a must have for my 6+ Sadly the controls are awkward and the tutorial doesnt work.
Once you log into your account (assuming you have one) it will automatically enable any DLC you may have and allows you to continue any games you have on your computer.
Confusing, glitchy, and they either pay for 5-star reviews or write them themselves. Dont buy, dont encourage them until they make a better product.
Fortunately I decided to try this game because it was free. And I was thinking that anyone that charges 3 bucks for a game has to have a good product and Im getting a steal. I enjoy a good strategy game, but this...? This is horrible. They should pay you to play a game like this. Bad controllers. Glitchy. Delayed touches. No tutorial so as much as I can usually figure games out, I was completely lost on this one. Yeah, I got it for free, and I feel sorry for people that paid for it.
First thing I want to point out is that there IS a tutorial. Actually, theres a video over each aspect of the game, with a written version if you dont want to watch the video. The game itself is an amazing tactical squad-based shooter. Ive never felt as much suspense in a game as I submit my turn. The campaign is nice and long, taking me about 20 hours to complete all of the challenging 55 missions. The AI is brutal and unpredictable. Multiplayer is by far Frozen Synapses best aspect, with quick load times and foes that are much more unpredictable than the AI. Sure, the UI does take a couple rounds to get the hang of, but after that its smooth sailing. Frozen Synapse is a necessity for every ios/pc gamer; make sure to pick it up. EDIT: And to everyone saying that theres too many buttons and commands, Im 14 and doing just fine, while making use of each and every one of them. And for the love of God there ARE tutorials!!! I guess some people are just too lazy to look. Anyways, FS is still a great game. I always find a multiplayer game in less than 20 secs (with decent wifi) and still get the same extremely satisfying feeling of beating a real person, even after owning this game for a pretty long period of time. So far it runs silky smooth on my 5s and iPad 4 with no bugs or glitches that I know of. Please do yourself a favor and get this masterpiece of a game.
This game seems really cool... but since the tutorial functionality is broken and the game is a bit detailed/fiddly, I cant get past level 3/4. Ive got guys lined up but they wont take shots when an enemy presents in their line of sight. Ill bet this is some simple mistake Im making, but with no functioning instruction manual or tutorials Im not just going to keep wasting my time guessing at what buttons mean or what Im supposed to do. May just ask for a refund if not fixed ASAP.
8 months and still no update. Dont buy this game. Original review: I was playing the PC version from day 1 and there were huge flaws then. Looks like they didnt really care about correcting them in this port because this game on iOS is a mess. The menu and matchmaking system are complete garbage. Instead of creating rooms for games you have to sit with your phone while a pop-up makes you wait to connect to an opponent, and after 20 seconds itll just take you back to the menu since theres hardly any players on. Whos got time for that. The menu is messy and hard to navigate, with no indication on whos waiting on who for active games. Theres no notifications even though the game asks to turn them on. The worst part is that players can just leave games in limbo if theyre losing because the games dont have time limits, the same exact issue the PC version had and a reason why I eventually stopped playing it. I wouldnt recommend this game at this time and if I could get a refund I would.
